Housekeeper
A housekeeper is responsible for the overall cleanliness and organisation of the home. Typical tasks include general cleaning, laundry, ironing, and care of household items. Depending on the family’s needs, the role may be part-time or full-time, live-in or live-out.
Housekeeper-Nanny
This hybrid role combines the practical duties of a housekeeper with support for the family’s children. Alongside household tasks, a housekeeper-nanny may assist with elements of the children’s daily routine — such as preparing school uniforms, organising meals, tidying play areas, and providing supervision during quiet periods at home.
Domestic Couple
A domestic couple is a two-person team supporting the home across multiple areas. Their responsibilities may include a mix of housekeeping, childcare, basic maintenance, gardening, cooking, or driving. Domestic couples are often live-in and particularly well-suited to families seeking multi-functional support with a reliable presence.
Choosing the right setup for your home
Households differ more than job titles suggest. Some families need a housekeeper three mornings a week to keep an apartment in order. Others need full-time, live-in support for a large home with several bedrooms, guests through the season and a routine that changes from week to week.
Live-out suits homes without separate staff accommodation, or families who prefer the house to themselves in the evenings. Live-in works well for larger properties, for families who travel often, and where early starts or late finishes are part of the week. Many families begin with fewer days and extend the hours once the routine settles.
Where childcare is part of the picture, a housekeeper-nanny can cover both sides of the day, while larger homes are often better served by a domestic couple or by two separate roles with clearly divided duties. Confidentiality runs in both directions. We keep your household details private during the search, share only what a candidate needs in order to consider the role, and remain available after the placement if something needs adjusting.
Seasonal homes and second residences
Not every home is lived in all year. For families who spend part of the season here, we arrange housekeeping that follows the calendar rather than a fixed weekly pattern.
That can mean preparing the house before you arrive, full support while the family and guests are in residence, and lighter upkeep once the season ends, including laundry, airing rooms, plants and keeping an eye on the property between visits. Where a property manager or estate manager is already involved, we place staff who are comfortable working alongside them.

What is the difference between a housekeeper and a housekeeper-nanny?
A housekeeper looks after the home itself, including cleaning, laundry, ironing and the care of household items. A housekeeper-nanny combines that with support for the children, such as school uniforms, meals, tidying play areas and supervision during quieter parts of the day. If childcare is the main need rather than a secondary one, a nanny is usually the better fit.
Should we hire live-in or live-out?
It depends on your property and your preference. Live-out works well where there is no separate staff accommodation or where the family prefers privacy outside working hours. Live-in suits larger homes, families who travel often, and schedules with early starts or late finishes. We talk this through with you before the search begins.
How quickly can you present candidates
Because we work from an already vetted database, in most cases we can put forward matched profiles within a few working days of receiving your enquiry form. More specialised searches, for example a domestic couple or a role with an unusual schedule, can take longer.
Do you help with contracts and employment paperwork?

What happens if the placement does not work out?
We stay in touch after a placement rather than closing the file. If something is not working we would rather hear early, because it is often a question of adjusting expectations or duties. Where a change is genuinely needed, we restart the search with everything we have learned from the first match.
Do you place staff for holiday homes or for short periods?
Yes. Alongside permanent roles we arrange seasonal, temporary and holiday cover, including full support while the family is in residence and lighter upkeep between visits.
